HOUSE OF LIES – SEASON ONE

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - HIGHLIGHTS -

Swearing and sex doesn’t always make a series cutting edge, sometimes it just makes it crass as is the case of HouseofLies, starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell. The series is set amongst a team of very expensive management consultants led by Marty (Cheadle) who is prepared to go to any lengths to win over a client. Marty’s pieces to camera in which he explains some of the management jargon and the corporate tricks is a nice touch but there is a just too much emphasis on his personal life – a clue to which is the show’s first scene – in which we get to see him naked. At least from the back). But Houseof Lies just isn’t funny or shocking enough. ★★ Extras: ManagementConsulting101, TheRainmaker, DressforSuccess, Commentary (Episodes 101, 102, 105, 111, 112), HangingwithDonCheadle, Hanging withKristinBell, WhoisMartyKaan? ★★★
