A ma­ture study of the com­plex­ity of or­di­nary peo­ple and their choices that im­presses at ev­ery turn. The ten­der-hearted, work­ing-class Jorge (Quim Gu­tiér­rez) be­lieves he con­trib­uted to his fa­ther’s stroke and takes up his job as a jan­i­tor out of guilt. A sim­i­lar mo­ti­va­tion sees him oblige a re­quest to im­preg­nate his im­pris­oned brother’s girl­friend. But be­hind his please-ev­ery­one strat­egy, Jorge longs to use his busi­ness de­gree and rec­on­cile with his beau­ti­ful neigh­bour (Eva Pal­larés). Di­rec­tor Daniel Sanchez Aré­valo main­tains con­stantly sim­mer­ing ten­sion in this exquisitely shot, bittersweet melo­drama. Also stars Héc­tor Colomé, An­to­nio de la Torre and Marta Etura.
