JUMANJI (1995) 7TWO, 7PM, PG, ADVENTURE

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - HIGHLIGHTS -

Two children (Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce) discover an old jungle-themed board game, which releases a man (Robin Williams) who has been stuck in its vortex for 26 years. With him is released a jungle-load of beasts and other effects-laden nasties that terrorise their town. Even for its time the effects were hit-and-miss, and Williams seems vaguely out of director Joe Johnston’s control (this is before the manic comic set his sights on becoming an actor first, funnyman second). A minor disappointment that staggers evenly between inspired and insipid. But the kids will love it. ★★★
