THE CHINA SYNDROME (1979) 7TWO, 11.30PM, M, DRAMA

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - HIGHLIGHTS -

Jane Fonda and Michael Douglas are a TV news crew who catch, on tape, action of a nuclear power station’s near-disaster. Unknown to the men in suits who try to cover up the mishap, the two intend to break the hard news and nail the industry. Intrigue follows as their scoop is refused for airing and they are dissuaded from continuing their investigations. The two team with the plant’s foreman (Jack Lemmon), who also has his suspicions. This political potboiler is commendable for both fine acting and a sensible approach to its testing subject matter. ★★★★
