MEET THE CONTESTANTS FROM THE OTHER STATES:

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - COVER FEATURE -

1

CARLY & LEIGHTON, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

This couple’s 1957-built house has never been renovated and is still pretty much exactly as it was when

it was first put together. Carly is a flight attendant and has no renovating

experience but Leighton is a carpenter

with his family’s building company so he knows his way around

a hammer and nail.

2

MICHELLE & STEVE, NEW SOUTH WALES This couple from Sydney’s Northern Beaches have been together for nearly

30 years and have renovated five properties. They lost their last house due to a bad investment and have been saving to buy the house they live in. They picked it up in May 2012 and they have done some work on it already. Now they hand over the keys to the other couples

to finish the job.

3

NICK & CHRIS,

VICTORIA These brothers have just moved out of home together but only 15 minutes away from mum. They hope the House Rules teams will

turn their threebedroom home into a modern bachelor’s pad

with a focus on entertaining with all the mod cons. Nick is a

carpenter so his tradesman skills will

come in handy.

4

JANE & PLINIO,

TASMANIA AFTER trekking around Australia twice this couple settled down in their

three-bedroom weatherboard house in New Town, Tasmania, in 2010. They admit their home is in need of some renovation. Jane is a high school teacher and hasn’t

got a great deal of renovating experience but Plinio isn’t afraid to take to things with a

sledgehammer.

5

JEMMA & BEN WESTERN AUSTRALIA These newlyweds postponed their honeymoon to take part in The couple picked up

their 1950s threebedroom home in 2011 and the Italian-inspired design comes complete with two concrete lions. Not exactly to their taste so they are looking for something a little more modern to

start their life in.

HOLDING THE FORT: Joh Griggs and the contestants.
