CARLY & LEIGHTON, SOUTH AUSTRALIA
This couple’s 1957-built house has never been renovated and is still pretty much exactly as it was when
it was first put together. Carly is a flight attendant and has no renovating
experience but Leighton is a carpenter
with his family’s building company so he knows his way around
a hammer and nail.
MICHELLE & STEVE, NEW SOUTH WALES This couple from Sydney’s Northern Beaches have been together for nearly
30 years and have renovated five properties. They lost their last house due to a bad investment and have been saving to buy the house they live in. They picked it up in May 2012 and they have done some work on it already. Now they hand over the keys to the other couples
to finish the job.

VICTORIA These brothers have just moved out of home together but only 15 minutes away from mum. They hope the House Rules teams will
turn their threebedroom home into a modern bachelor’s pad
with a focus on entertaining with all the mod cons. Nick is a
carpenter so his tradesman skills will
come in handy.
JANE & PLINIO,
TASMANIA AFTER trekking around Australia twice this couple settled down in their
three-bedroom weatherboard house in New Town, Tasmania, in 2010. They admit their home is in need of some renovation. Jane is a high school teacher and hasn’t
got a great deal of renovating experience but Plinio isn’t afraid to take to things with a
JEMMA & BEN WESTERN AUSTRALIA These newlyweds postponed their honeymoon to take part in The couple picked up
their 1950s threebedroom home in 2011 and the Italian-inspired design comes complete with two concrete lions. Not exactly to their taste so they are looking for something a little more modern to
start their life in.
