Charlize Theron’s gravitydefying stunts (and outfits) are the main reason to flick over to this feature version of the cult animated series. The Oscar-winner plays the titular stealthy assassin who works for an underground group of rebels in the year 2415, where the world is a strictly controlled, virus-decimated place ruled from within a walled city by a power-hungry leader (Marton Csokas). However, what initially begins as an assassination mission turns into something far more dangerous. A better-thanaverage cast and uncommon intelligence adds substance to Girlfight director Karyn Kusama’s arresting sci-fi thriller. ★★✩
