The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - HIGHLIGHTS -

It is set in a retirement home and the stars are all over 60 but Quartet isn’t a movie just for the silver-haired set. At the heart – and among the jokes about incontinence and memory-loss – is a story for all ages about redemption, hope and acceptance. It starts with the arrival of a star soloist (Maggie Smith) at a home for retired musicians and singers. Her arrival puts her back in touch with some former colleagues and an ex-husband which adds more tension to the home’s annual fundraising concert. Directed by Dustin Hoffman, it also stars Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins, Tom Courtenay and Michael Gambon. ★★★ Extras: None
