Set in London in 1932 this new four-part miniseries by Stephen Poliakoff is about the rise and fall of a revolutionary band.

It follows music journalist Stanley Mitchell (Matthew Goode) who aims to unearth the next great British artist.

Along comes former merchant seaman Louis Lester (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and his 10-piece band and Mitchell thinks he’s hit the jackpot. He becomes their promoter and success quickly ensues but their fame is short-lived when Louis is accused of murder.

It’s a lively and fascinating tale with love interests, drama, partying and plenty of funky jazz tracks.
