He’s an ac­tor, writer and co­me­dian and now Lawrence Mooney is putting celebri­ties to the test on ABC’s new pop cul­ture-themed com­edy game show, Dirty Laun­dry. TV Guide caught up with the host to find out about his favourite things. EN­TER­TAIN­MENT Movie: Chi­na­town. It stars my all­time favourites Jack Ni­chol­son and Faye Du­n­away. It’s a great story. Book: On The Road by Jack Ker­ouac. It was a gift from my el­dest brother and it set my mind ablaze. TV show: I loved The Sweeney and I still do. I wanted to be a cop for a lot of my child­hhod be­cause of this. Band or singer: The Black Keys have been get­ting the high­est ro­ta­tion in the past year. I just can’t stop lis­ten­ing to El Camino. Al­bum: The Black Keys’ El Camino. I have blown the speak­ers in my car lis­ten­ing to Lit­tle Black Sub­marines. Karaoke song: Cap­tain & Te­nille – Love Will Keep Us To­gether. It re­minds me of the in­no­cent joy of be­ing 11 when it was a hit. Gadget: iPhone. Just can’t put it down or look away. LIFE­STYLE Hol­i­day spot: Is it too wanky to say Italy? I’m ac­tu­ally pretty happy at home, I don’t want to pack up and go all the time. Thing to do on the week­end: I like slow Satur­day morn­ings with cof­fee and pa­pers and everone in the bed. My wife, daugh­ters (Lily 13, and Mag­gie 3 months) and Ru­pert our dog. It’s won­der­ful. Place to go to re­lax: I can let go in the cin­ema, I love the dark­ness and the es­cape. Hobby: I’m a reader and a watcher of books, films and tele­vi­sion. Sport to fol­low or play: AFL. I’ve looked at the rest and noth­ing com­pares. I’m an Essendon sup­porter. Din­ner con­ver­sa­tion top­ics: We talk com­edy, the po­lit­i­cal di­vide, male and fe­male think­ing then some­thing very wrong and sex­ual like what a cer­tain celebrity might like. HOME Room in your house: Lounge­room – couches and TV, need I say more!? Place to hide from ev­ery­one: My study. Ev­ery­one else is down­stairs. Art piece: Large art­work from an Abo­rig­i­nal artist from Ten­nant Creek. You can swim into it. Item you can’t live with­out: I love my car. I lost my li­cence for six months and I longed for my car. I know it’s not all green and hy­brid but I bought a Jeep and I am in love. Lux­ury prod­uct: My wife and I like go­ing to a restau­rant, the baby has cur­tailed reser­va­tions, but it would be our big­gest in­dul­gence. FOOD Meal of all time: A good osso bucco with great mash can­not be beaten. Dish to cook: I’m a roaster. I know how to bring it to­gether. Fam­ily recipe: Spaghetti bolog­naise. In­gre­di­ent: Chilli. Guilty plea­sure: Red wine. Restau­rant: The Euro­pean in Spring Street, Melbourne (pic­tured). Cafe´: The Pantry, Church Street, Brighton, Vic­to­ria. STYLE Style icon: Brad Pitt al­ways looks good. I like his sim­ple stylish look. Fash­ion de­signer: I re­ally love Ralph Lau­ren bold­ness and Ben Sher­man style.
