He’s an actor, writer and comedian and now Lawrence Mooney is putting celebrities to the test on ABC’s new pop culture-themed comedy game show, Dirty Laundry. TV Guide caught up with the host to find out about his favourite things. ENTERTAINMENT Movie: Chinatown. It stars my alltime favourites Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. It’s a great story. Book: On The Road by Jack Kerouac. It was a gift from my eldest brother and it set my mind ablaze. TV show: I loved The Sweeney and I still do. I wanted to be a cop for a lot of my childhhod because of this. Band or singer: The Black Keys have been getting the highest rotation in the past year. I just can’t stop listening to El Camino. Album: The Black Keys’ El Camino. I have blown the speakers in my car listening to Little Black Submarines. Karaoke song: Captain & Tenille – Love Will Keep Us Together. It reminds me of the innocent joy of being 11 when it was a hit. Gadget: iPhone. Just can’t put it down or look away. LIFESTYLE Holiday spot: Is it too wanky to say Italy? I’m actually pretty happy at home, I don’t want to pack up and go all the time. Thing to do on the weekend: I like slow Saturday mornings with coffee and papers and everone in the bed. My wife, daughters (Lily 13, and Maggie 3 months) and Rupert our dog. It’s wonderful. Place to go to relax: I can let go in the cinema, I love the darkness and the escape. Hobby: I’m a reader and a watcher of books, films and television. Sport to follow or play: AFL. I’ve looked at the rest and nothing compares. I’m an Essendon supporter. Dinner conversation topics: We talk comedy, the political divide, male and female thinking then something very wrong and sexual like what a certain celebrity might like. HOME Room in your house: Loungeroom – couches and TV, need I say more!? Place to hide from everyone: My study. Everyone else is downstairs. Art piece: Large artwork from an Aboriginal artist from Tennant Creek. You can swim into it. Item you can’t live without: I love my car. I lost my licence for six months and I longed for my car. I know it’s not all green and hybrid but I bought a Jeep and I am in love. Luxury product: My wife and I like going to a restaurant, the baby has curtailed reservations, but it would be our biggest indulgence. FOOD Meal of all time: A good osso bucco with great mash cannot be beaten. Dish to cook: I’m a roaster. I know how to bring it together. Family recipe: Spaghetti bolognaise. Ingredient: Chilli. Guilty pleasure: Red wine. Restaurant: The European in Spring Street, Melbourne (pictured). Cafe´: The Pantry, Church Street, Brighton, Victoria. STYLE Style icon: Brad Pitt always looks good. I like his simple stylish look. Fashion designer: I really love Ralph Lauren boldness and Ben Sherman style. Piece of clothing: I’m a little bit in love with my motorbike jacket.
