ARTHUR (2011) GO!, 9.30PM, PG, COMEDY

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - HIGHLIGHTS -

This remake of the 1981 original that starred Dudley Moore sees British bad-boy Russell Brand as a wealthy drunken playboy who stands to lose a large inheritance lest he marry fellow rich girl Jennifer Garner. It’s easy to assume Brand plays a version of himself as the spoilt Arthur, who still relies far too heavily on his nanny (a brilliant Helen Mirren, who steals every scene she’s in) as he flippantly throws cash around like it’s going out of fashion. But for all his irritating mannerisms, Brand’s rich-boy caricature fits well in this occasionally endearing romp through the fairytale world of the uber-rich. ★★
