DIAL M FOR MURDER (1954) GEM, 4.20PM, PG, THRILLER

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - HIGHLIGHTS -

This delicious Hitchcock thriller from the mid-’50s sees the master of suspense at the peak of his powers. All the usual Hitch ingredients – the blonde (Grace Kelly, above), the handsome man with a dark agenda (Ray Milland) and a conspiracy that nobody will believe – combine for a gripping dose of murder, intrigue and double dealing. Kelly is superb as the unfaithful wife, whose infidelity is discovered by her husband (Milland). His plans for revenge come up short when a hit man sent to kill her meets his own brutal end. Visually simpler than some of his other noted films, with more than enough mind games. A must watch. ★★★★★
