The first things that come to mind when think­ing of Lu­cille Ball are prob­a­bly along the lines of slap­stick, red hair and in­fec­tious cackle. But be­hind the tough fa­cade of the trail­blaz­ing comedic ge­nius, was a woman strug­gling in an at times dark mar­riage to Desi Ar­naz (Danny Pino, TV’s Law &Or­der:SVU). This take on Ball’s life is not your aver­age mid­day movie biopic. It goes be­yond sen­ti­men­tal­ity and, while Rachel York doesn’t re­ally re­sem­ble Ball, she does of­fer a bril­liant take on the leg­endary per­former’s best­loved rou­tines and the hard work it took to per­fect them,
