Ready, set, red carpet

BETWEEN them, red carpet hosts Sonia Kruger and Jules Lund (left) have attended 25 Logies, so they know a thing or two about surviving Australian TV’s night of nights.

Their tip for this year’s Gold Logie, from the field of Scott Cam, Andy Lee, Steve Peacocke, Asher Keddie, Essie Davis and Carrie Bickmore, is unsurprising: Nine’s Cam. But their biggest tip? Approach the night with humour.

SONIA: “Of the ceremonies I can recall, I think I’ve attended about 15. My sense of fashion evolved over the years and I stopped replicating my high-school formal look. You have to make sure your shoes are comfortable, and go easy on the free bubbly. My most memorable Logies moment was dancing with Flo Rida during his opening number two years ago.

JULES: “This is my 10th Logies. The first year I didn’t get interviewed on the red carpet, no matter how many times I walked up and down. The next year I got airtime by hosting the damn thing. About eight years ago Sophie Monk fainted in front of me and I caught her. She still won’t call me her knight in shining armour, perhaps because I stole her clutch while she was out cold. I’ve collected pics that would destroy a few household names if they got out.”
