The drama starts with Nevison (George Costi­gan) ask­ing Kevin (Steve Pem­ber­ton) to find the ran­som money for Ann’s (Charlie Murphy) kid­nap­ping. Mean­while, Cather­ine (Sarah Lan­cashire) is de­ter­mined to con­vict Tommy (James Nor­ton, above left with Adam Long) of Becky’s death.

Back-to-back episodes bring to an end the sec­ond se­ries of this Ricky Ger­vais com­edy. In the first, Mead­way An­i­mal Res­cue make a visit to the nurs­ing home which is a high­light for Derek (Ger­vais, right). But the hap­pi­ness is short­lived when he learns his fa­ther is un­well. Adding a lighter touch is Kev (David Earl), who tries to im­press with his ques­tion­able artis­tic tal­ents.
