A sketch spe­cial that de­liv­ers war sto­ries in a rea­son­ably funny way. We see how, on Christ­mas Day 1914, a truce was called so sol­diers could play a “friendly” foot­ball match. “Is that a player warm­ing up on the side­lines?” a match com­men­ta­tor asks. “No,” his com­men­tat­ing col­league re­sponds. “It’s just some­one itch­ing from the lice in the trenches.”

LOUIE 8PM, T HE C OM­EDY C HAN­NEL It’s get­ting hard to clas­sify Louie as a com­edy. That would be a dire sign for most shows aim­ing for laughs, but Louie still works thanks to the writ­ing of star Louis CK. You can’t help but smile when Louie’s doc­tor tells him, “You may be the sin­gle most bor­ing per­son I’ve ever met – no of­fence.”
