7 PM, ABC3

A sketch special that delivers war stories in a reasonably funny way. We see how, on Christmas Day 1914, a truce was called so soldiers could play a “friendly” football match. “Is that a player warming up on the sidelines?” a match commentator asks. “No,” his commentating colleague responds. “It’s just someone itching from the lice in the trenches.”

LOUIE 8PM, T HE C OMEDY C HANNEL It’s getting hard to classify Louie as a comedy. That would be a dire sign for most shows aiming for laughs, but Louie still works thanks to the writing of star Louis CK. You can’t help but smile when Louie’s doctor tells him, “You may be the single most boring person I’ve ever met – no offence.”

KITCHEN CABINET 8PM, ABC KitchenCabinetnet is still going strong thanks s to the clever interviewing by Annabel Crabb (right). Tonight she visits Finance ance Minister Mathias hias Cormann, who ho hails from a small town in east Belgium. Expectect him to whip up some mussels fromm Brussels.
