Well-made, bril­liantly acted but hard-to-watch look at the sub-cul­ture which cre­ated the con­di­tions for the hor­ren­dous Snow­town mur­ders in South Aus­tralia be­tween 1992 and 1999. A per­va­sive sense of dread fills the screen as the film ex­plores the sub­ur­ban waste­land that hides all man­ner of sex­ual per­ver­sity which ends with bod­ies rot­ting in bar­rels stored inside a dis­used bank.

Tom (Aziz An­sari) is put in charge of DJing – thanks to his sci­en­tific knowl­edge of what con­sti­tutes a “banger” – but is forced to work along­side Ben (Adam Scott) whose col­lec­tion of clas­sic rock is more to the kids’ taste.
