COMEDY MODERN FAMILY

8PM, T E N

To celebrate Australia Day, Ten dusts off the Aussie episode of ModernFamily from last year. It’s a little bit clunky, with lots of gags about kangaroos, but still worth a look. The family are Down Under after Phil discovers he was conceived here and decides to connect with his (tenuous) roots. Watch out for familiar faces including Rhys Darby ( Flightofthe Conchords), Peter Phelps and Jye Williams.

NATURAL HISTORY

COAST AUSTRALIA 6. 3 0PM, HI STORY Tonight, Neil Oliver and his team take a look at northern New South Wales, travelling from Byron Bay to South West Rocks. The most fascinating tale is of the almost forgotten 1973 journey of 12 men on three balsa wood rafts from Ecuador to Ballina, the longest non-stop raft journey ever recorded. Navigator Hugo Becerra is taken back to his raft for the first time in 30 years.

DOC0

SOUNDS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT: IRIT: TRIPLE J AT 40 8. 3 0PM, ABC2 This doco aired on January 19, the Js’ official birthday, but it’s well worth a patriotic catchup tonight if you missed it. Missy ssy Higgins declares that Triple J “gave birthth to me” and Roy and HG recall that “the kiddiesdies like adults being silly, and we were very silly”.
