IN IT TO WIN IT ON MILLION DOLLAR MINUTE
WHEN Andrew Skarbek answered his 589th question correctly on Million Dollar Minute, he became the biggest cash winner in the quiz show’s history.
“I still get stopped in the street daily by strangers congratulating me,” the instant millionaire says.
“It has truly transformed my life in so many ways.”
That includes paying off all of his debts and buying his first house – in cold hard cash.
But while many would be happy to rest on their laurels, Skarbek is ready to put his reputation on the line again for the Million Dollar Minute Champion of Champions special.
Skarbek will take on other viewer favourites during the run of episodes. Playing on behalf of a home viewer, they will take home a $100,000 cash prize should he triumph once again.
Some of those returning include former Models band member Pierre Sutcliffe and single mum Lisa Paton. But Skarbek says there’s one competitor he’s most nervous about facing.
“My biggest threat is Jonathan Somic because he’s young, knowledgeable and has sharp reflexes,” he says of the 26-year-old medical student who took home $212,000 last year.
“His reaction time on hitting that buzzer is incredible. He’s like a shark, he’s relentless and really psyches out the competition by staring them down.
“It doesn’t matter how smart you are, if you can’t buzz in first, you lose.” MILLION DOLLAR MINUTE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS FROM MONDAY, 5.30PM, SEVEN
