An­drew Bovell is one of Aus­tralia’s great writ­ing tal­ents. He’s be­hind this adap­ta­tion of John Le Carre’s 2008 novel in which a Chechen man who is liv­ing il­le­gally in Ham­burg be­comes tan­gled in the in­ter­na­tional war on terror. The thriller is also sig­nif­i­cant as it’s the last film made by Phillip Seymour Hoff­man be­fore his 2014 death. Co-stars Rachel McA­dams, Robin Wright and Willem Dafoe.
