The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - WEEK IN MOVIES - WITH NEALA JOHNSON

DRAMA

CSI: CYBER 9PM, TEN “We’re looking at a dark hotel situation here, folks!” No, Dawson from Dawson’s Creek (James Van Der Beek, above with Patricia Arquette) isn’t talking power failure, he’s talking computer jargon. There’s a lot of that in Cyber – over-exposition about what malware is or how wi-fi works. But in the end, it’s a murder investigation show like the rest.

COMEDY

FRESH OFF THE BOAT 6. 3 0PM, FOX8 Modern families are so passe; 1990s families are where it’s at. That’s where we find the Wong family, Taiwanese immigrants trying to fit into American suburbia – with hilarious results. Tonight, mother Jessica gets her hands on the ultra-PC primary school play when she does “mandatory volunteering”. It won’t stay PC for long.

DOCUMENTARY

IN BOB WE TRUST 8. 3 0PM, ABC2 This defiant 2013 doco seems even more insightful after recent Catholic commotions. It follows the fallout when Australia’s best-known (for all the right reasons) priest Father Bob Maguire (right) was “invited” to retire. He refused because giving “Headquarters” control of his parish would be like “giving Dracula the blood bank”.
