WHEN LIFE IMITATES ENTOURAGE ACT
AWAY from the famed television series and recent film adaptation, Kevin Dillon has wound up living his own version of Entourage lately.
The 49-year-old actor, who played Johnny Drama in the long-running saga about a group of friends in modern-day Hollywood, reveals there’s “a couple of buddies” living in his guesthouse right now.
But their antics are far from the womanising, hard-partying ones his character enjoyed.
“My buddies and I play a bit of golf and we work on my muscle cars – I’m into American muscle cars like Camaros and GTOs that we work on out back,” Dillon says.
But the general theme – of friendship and “having each other’s back” – remains.
“I dare not call them my ‘entourage’ though. They don’t like that – forget it.”
Reprising Johnny Drama recently for the big screen, alongside Vincent (Adrian Grenier), Eric (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Ari (Jeremy Piven), was something Dillon never expected to happen.
“I wondered if I’d ever get to play him again.
“He’s the character of a lifetime and I had so much fun playing him.” To prepare for the film, many of the actors went back to the beginning of Entourage to relive those first few seasons.
“It’s just the guys hanging out, you know,” he says. “I’d forgotten about some of the nice moments, so it was great to watch it again.”
Drama’s more outrageous behaviour aside, Dillon can relate to his on-screen persona.
“He’s insecure and that sometimes comes out in the form of this inflated ego. But he has a big heart and I like to think I do too,” he says. ENTOURAGE STREAMING ON PRESTO
