Fans of Un­der­belly:Ra­zor will find a lot to like in this Bri­tish gang­ster drama set in 1919. Cil­lian Mur­phy (above) shines as Thomas Shelby whose fam­ily run the most feared gang in Birm­ing­ham. The Peaky Blin­ders sew ra­zor blades into the peaks of their caps just in case some­one gets in the way of their illegal bet­ting, pro­tec­tion and black mar­ket rack­ets.

THE SO­PRA­NOS STREAM­ING ON PRESTO All six sea­sons of this ground­break­ing se­ries are on Presto if you are yet to find out what put the great in the late, great James Gan­dolfini. It may be a gang­ster show, but at its heart it’s a fam­ily drama, with Gan­dolfini an­chor­ing the ac­tion as a con­flicted crook. One of the first se­ries to prove TV doesn’t have to be a poor cousin to movies.

James Nes­bitt (right) plays Lon­don po­lice com­mis­sioner Richard Miller,ler who ho hires Amer­i­can PR ex­pert Liz Gar­vey (Brit Mar­ling) to clean up the force’s im­age which is be­ing clob­bered by the media. Makes TheBill look tame.
