MINISERIES THE PRINCIPAL

8. 3 0PM, S BS

Alex Dimitriades makes a welcome return to the small screen as a new principal at a tough Sydney boys’ school. There’s ethnic tension, vandalism and a cow’s head left in the lobby, and that’s just day one. It’s a bit clunky at times, but ThePrincipal is shaping up as a strong and compelling new entrant on the Australian drama landscape.

REALITY

THE BLOCK 7. 3 0PM, NI NE Block fans agree – the challenge episodes are the show’s weakest link. But the alternative is contestants running out of cash mid-build, so they’re a necessary evil. Tonight, Scottish design experts Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan are on hand to judge their pop-up coffee shops.

COMEDY

UTOPIA 9.0 5 PM, ABC Final episode, and Tony (Rob Sitch, right) only gets one day into his Byron Bay holiday before being called back to deal with every government department’st t’ worstt nightmarei ht – a new minister. When he’s promised a blank slate as a sweetener for his ruined break, Tony decides on a conference of infrastructure experts, but it’s quickly hijacked and before he knows it, The Block’s Scotty Cam is on the invitation list.
