DRAMA PLEASE LIKE ME

9. 3 0PM, ABC

Comedian Josh Thomas is back with a new season of his very clever semi-autobiographical series about a young man in no hurry to grow up. The new season sees Josh continue to juggle his bipolar mother, anxiety-ridden boyfriend, colourful ex-girlfriend and unmotivated best friend. The situations are often painfully awkward yet strangely fascinating with a lot of heart.

REALITY

THE BACHELORETTE AUSTRALIA 7. 3 0PM, T E N Props to Sam Frost. She endured being dumped by Blake Garvey (dodged a bullet there) after he proposed in last year’s TheBachelor, and came back for a second shot at love on reality TV as Australia’s first Bachelorette. She’s dodged a few bullets along the way this time around too. In tonight’s finale, Sam takes her top two to meet the family before she finally chooses her man. – DS

LIFESTYLE

GADGET MAN 8PM, S BS2 Everyone loves cool gadgets and this show profiles some of the unbelievably wacky ones that make everyday tasks a bit easier. Tonight, host Richard Ayoade (above) looks at staycation gadgets – among them are the world’s tiniest caravan and a pair of pants that somehow transform into a picnic table. As well as the cutting-edge tech, the very dry presentation by comic Ayoade makes this fun.
