COMEDY

RICK AND MORTY

8PM, T HE C OMEDY C HANNEL The best animated comedy since TheSimpsons’ 1990s heyday and – more surprisingly – the best sci-fi show in years, it follows crazed alcoholic scientist Rick and his nervous grandson Morty (both voiced by Justin Roiland) as they embark on adventures throughout the galaxy. Hilarious.

MUSIC

OZ MUSIC WEEK

F ROM 7 AM, MAX Max pays tribute to the rock and pop wizards of Oz in the lead-up to the ARIA Awards on Thursday. It kicks off this morning with the Top 200 – Home Grown Legends from 8am, and on Thursday at 11am you can tune back in to see just how different the Top 100 Aussie Hits of All Time are. Cold Chisel, Icehouse, Daniel Johns, Delta Goodrem, The Angels and Tina Arena will feature heavily.

SUPERHERO

JESSICA JONES

ANYTIME, NETFLIX The world doesn’t really need any additional superhero TV series but Jessica Jones has a key difference: it’s actually good. Oh, and for the first time in ages the superhero is a woman. Krysten Ritter (above left with Aussie co-star Rachael Taylor) is perfect as a private investigator wrestling with her dark past after a stint as a superhero went very, very wrong.
