Once burned, twice shy?
One First Dates diner is back for seconds, writes TIFFANY DUNK
SHE’S back! After failing to score a second date first time around, Lauren Parisi returns to the First Dates restaurant this week.
The 28-year old marketing manager polarised viewers in the debut episode of the series, having – among other first date no-nos – demanded a threeyear plan from her bemused dinner companion.
“As Kim Kardashian says, ‘If you don’t have negative feedback, then you’re not doing it properly’,” she tells TV Guide.
“[Corbin turning down a second date] didn’t affect me in the slightest.”
Having felt she’d been matched up with someone who “wasn’t a great fit” for her first dinner, Parisi says she felt more nerves entering the restaurant doors second time around. “There was all this pressure,” she says. “I was concerned about what person they were going to put forward this time – because they put forward the wrong person (before) when I told them what I was looking for. I was quite nervous.”
But despite the nerves and the possibility of a second knock-back, Parisi says she never contemplated saying no to coming back for another shot at love. “You only get one chance in life,” Parisi reasons. “You get one shot so get in there, run with it and see what happens. That’s why I came back.”
