BROWN: HAWKS HAVE WHAT IT TAKES

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - NEWS -

MATTY Johns reckons the NRL season is wide open, but that certainly isn’t the case with the AFL.

Hawthorn have been premiers the past three years and Fox Footy commentator Jonathan Brown (left) says they could make it four straight.

“The story of this AFL season is, ‘Can Hawthorn four-peat,” he says. “I know from my situation at the Brisbane Lions it is a difficult mountain to climb. We got very close.”

Brown was part of the dominant Lions team captained by Michael Voss that won the Grand Final in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He retired in 2014.

“I love watching great sides play and dynasties unfolding before your eyes,” Brown says. “I am an unabashed fan of [Hawthorn captain] Luke Hodge. He reminds me of Vossy.”
