MYSTERY STRANGER THINGS

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - FRONT PAGE -

NETFLIX It’s 1983 in an American small town where not much ever happens, when a young boy named Will suddenly goes missing. At the same time, an unusual little girl turns up – wearing a hospital gown, a shaved head and No.11 tattooed on her arm. As Will’s distraught mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) and his three friends search for answers, a series of bizarre mysteries are uncovered.

They face a secretive government agency, off-the-books experiments, supernatural forces and a dangerous being. This brilliant series takes its cue from the classic ’80s supernatural film genre, with a thrilling story and nostalgiainducing tones making for a very binge-worthy experience. The cast is brilliant – especially the youngsters who make this show what it is. Even if the otherworldly theme isn’t your usual thing, give Stranger Things a go – I promise you’ll be hooked.
