Tomic court time delayed

AUSTRALIAN tennis ‘‘bad boy’’ Bernard Tomic has delayed his criminal court appearance in Florida, preventing a clash with the first day of the US Open.

Tomic’s case relating to charges from a wild night out in Miami was due to be heard in court tomorrow, but has been reassigned to September 21 – even though he was not required to appear.

Tomic – who spent yesterday on the Flushing Meadows practice courts in New York with fellow bad boy Nick Kyrgios and mentor Lleyton Hewitt – told The Sunday Mail he would figure the court case out after the Open. Tomic (pictured) will meet Bosnia’s Damir Dzumhur – ranked 94th – in the first round, but then could face Hewitt – a tournament wildcard – in the second.
