Cash coming to fight addiction
ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk will consider setting up a fighting fund to tackle ice addiction with money confiscated under proceeds of crime laws.
The Premier yesterday promised to explore an array of options to battle the ice scourge and implored other political leaders to do the same.
Ms Palaszczuk unveiled her proposal to funnel proceeds of crime into treatment and rehabilitation initiatives at Queensland Labor’s annual state conference in Brisbane.
She told the Labor faithful her Government had “zero tolerance” for organised crime but a broader approach than just arresting dealers and users of ice was needed.
