Radar ‘detects Nazi gold train’
A POLISH official said yesterday that radar seemed to prove the discovery of an Nazi train missing in south-west Poland since World War II. Local legend says the train filled with gold, gems and armaments went missing near the city of Walbrzych as the Red Army advanced in the spring of 1945. Fortune-hunters have looked for the train for decades, checking the subterranean systems built by the Nazis (above), and in the communist era, the Polish army and security services carried out fruitless searches.
