ROGERS THAT, DAD

-

JACK Rogers yesterday became only the fourth player to score a hat-trick of tries on debut in the under-20 National Youth Competition.

The son of dual international Mat Rogers and grandson of Cronulla great and Test centre Steve Rogers, Jack (above) ensured it was a day his family will never forget.

He scored three tries in only 50 minutes while playing on the wing for the Sharks.

Despite Cronulla’s twopoint loss to Parramatta, Rogers was not the only family act to finish on the scoresheet.

The grandson of Reg Gasnier, five-eighth Jack Williams, also bagged a try for the Sharks.

Rogers joined Cronulla this year from schoolboys rugby union on a train-and-trial contract after moving from the Gold Coast.
