Shock poll odds from bookies
LABOR has jumped to favourite in 51 state seats in a shock bookies’ Queensland election shake-up.
The LNP leads Labor outright in election betting at $1.75 after impressive polls, but Labor remains safe at $2 after betting giants Sportsbet dropped the bombshell that One Nation was challenging the LNP in five seats and was a wider second favourite to the LNP in 11 others.
One Nation MP Steve Dickson is a $5 chance to retain Buderim with candidate Margaret Bell the party’s “most likely’’ at $2.20 in the northern seat of Hinchinbrook.
Other One Nation seat threats include Callide ($2.50), Nanango ($3) and Gregory ($3.30).
LNP heads Sportsbet markets in 40 of the 93 seats with frontbencher Ian Walker battling at $2.60 in the southside’s rejigged seat of Mansfield behind Labor’s school teacher hope Corinne McMillan ($1.50).
Gold Coast remains safe for LNP including former Townsville-based Newman government minister David Crisafulli who is $1.05 to return to parliament from Broadwater.
