Izzy edges closer to world record for Test tries in a year but in­sists ... I‘m go­ing to step it up again

IS­RAEL Fo­lau de­clared he can go to another level in the next two months as he chases the world record for most Test tries in a year, while re­veal­ing the out­cry over his anti-same­sex mar­riage tweet has not af­fected him.

Wal­laby full­back Fo­lau is in the form of his Test ca­reer, hav­ing scored 11 tries in eight matches, need­ing seven more from six games to break the record jointly held by Ja­pan’s Daisuke Ohata (2002) and All Black Joe Roko­coko (2003).

But Fo­lau only sees him­self im­prov­ing in the re­main­ing 2017 in­ter­na­tion­als, start­ing with Ar­gentina in Men­doza this morn­ing (8.40am AEST).

“I feel I can, things have been go­ing OK but I’m not con­tent with how I’ve been play­ing the last cou­ple of weeks,” Fo­lau said.
