Izzy edges closer to world record for Test tries in a year but insists ... I‘m going to step it up again
ISRAEL Folau declared he can go to another level in the next two months as he chases the world record for most Test tries in a year, while revealing the outcry over his anti-samesex marriage tweet has not affected him.
Wallaby fullback Folau is in the form of his Test career, having scored 11 tries in eight matches, needing seven more from six games to break the record jointly held by Japan’s Daisuke Ohata (2002) and All Black Joe Rokocoko (2003).
But Folau only sees himself improving in the remaining 2017 internationals, starting with Argentina in Mendoza this morning (8.40am AEST).
“I feel I can, things have been going OK but I’m not content with how I’ve been playing the last couple of weeks,” Folau said.
