PROSTITUTES are rorting the safe-sex system by forging signatures and defrauding brothels, a court has heard.

Mining worker turned prostitute Rougiyatou Faal, 32, told the Brisbane Magistrates Court she believed it was common practice for girls to forge doctor’s certificates “as the other girls in the industry were doing the same thing”.

The Bracken Ridge woman, who works under the name Sierra, told police when she was charged on March 14 this year that she “either just didn’t have time to go to the doctor” or “it was inconvenient to go to the doctor” and forging was the easy way out.

Faal, who worked at brothels Montecito and Platinum 175 in Bowen Hills, was speaking after she pleaded guilty to six charges of fraud and four of forgery. She was fined $1500.
