DAMIAN Browne had to seek outside help in finding the right saddle to partner the heavily weighted Crack Me Up at Doomben yesterday.

Liam Birchley’s decision to resume in the Benchmark 85 and not use a claim left Crack Me Up 63kg to carry.

“I don’t know how these little blokes carry these bloody big things,” Browne (pictured below) said.

“Every bit of gear I had was borrowed.

“Ronnie Stewart probably uses this one to ride 57kg, so I thought that would be about right for me to ride the 63kg.”

Crack Me Up turned in a slashing return, coming from the back to grab second behind Brooklyn Storm.

“It was a super run,” Browne said.

The only other time Browne has ridden a horse with 63kg was Gherardini at Caloundra in last December.
