HAWKS FLYING HIGH
THE Illawarra Hawks recovered from a sluggish start to beat the Adelaide 36ers 96-87 last night.
Trailing at every change and by as many as 15 points early in the third quarter, the Hawks staged a fourthterm fightback, outscoring the Sixers 33-15.
Americans Demitrius Conger (26 points, 10 rebounds) and Rotnei Clarke (24 points, eight rebounds) led the way for the visitors. Ramone Moore (24 points, 12 in the final period) helped Adelaide when it mattered.
MELBOURNE United bounced back from a heavy loss to Cairns to score a 108-90 win over Sydney yesterday.
After being out-hustled in a big loss on Thursday night to the Taipans, United won the rebounding battle with the Kings and shared the scoring load for their fifth win of the season at Hisense Arena.
Casey Prather led with 22 points, Tai Wesley made nine-of-11 shots with three triples to finish with 21, and Josh Boone racked up a double-double in the first half.
