EVEN as he stepped into the ring with WBO welterweight champion

Jeff Horn, Karl Stefanovic’s

thoughts turned to his fiancee

Jasmine Yarbrough.

The show host was filmed “going a few rounds” with Horn in the gym behind trainer

Brisbane mansion for a segment that will air on the show tomorrow.

“My partner is very concerned about me jumping in the ring,” he told Confidential on set.

”There are some things that h are intolerable in a relationship and this is probably the biggest one – me embarrassing a world champion, she doesn’t want me to do that. It might be tough for her to watch me knock out a world champion.”

Speaking for the first time since his engagement to the Mara & Mine entrepreneur was made public, Stefanovic said he didn’t want to go into detail about the happy news.

“It’s one thing to be seen around town and stuff (wearing the ring) but this th (speaking about it) is another thing – some things are OK to keep private,” he said.

“There’s got to be some time here that we have to enjoy to ourselves and with our family.”

While he said the couple would consider opening up about it in “due course”, he shot down rumours the pair had planned a paid “media deal”.

“That’s completely ridiculous – as if I would ever do a media deal with any of the magazines that have made my life hell,” he said. He said he understood the public interest “comes with the territory” but he and Yarbrough wanted to maintain “some level of privacy”. Stefanovic’s ex-wife

recently told Fairfax Media “his engagement doesn’t register with me on any level”.

“I am just focused on helping those affected by the ever-changing landscape of my ex-husband’s life, to navigate it,” she told the publication.

Stefanovic donned a pink bathrobe with the words “mother of the bride” emblazoned on the back for his bout with Horn, dubbing himself “The Pink Flamingo”.

“Jeff is a great Australian and more importantly a great Queenslander and every now and then it’s good to go head-to-head with other great Queenslanders to keep him on the straight and narrow,” Stefanovic joked. SEE STEFANOVIC AND HORN ON THE TODAY SHOW TOMORROW
