Those requiring a racquet are the best pick in terms of life-saving benefits, with tennis, squash and badminton linked to a 47 per cent lower risk of death from any cause, according to a global study of more than 80,000 adults led by researchers at the University of Sydney. These were followed by swimming, aerobics and cycling. Further research is needed to shed light on the reasons for the findings.
