These five “brain-un­healthy food groups” are high in ei­ther sat­u­rated or trans fats or sugar, which con­trib­ute to in­flam­ma­tion and can speed up the de­vel­op­ment of Alzheimer’s dis­ease:

• Red meat (less than 3 times a week)

• But­ter (less than 1 ta­ble­spoon a day)

• Full-fat cheese (less than 1 serve a week)

• Pas­tries and sweets (1 serve a week)

• Fried or fast food (1 serve a week)
