SWAP JOGGING FOR CHEWING

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - Body and Soul - - NEWS -

Want to bump up the kilojoule burn of your lunchtime stroll? Forget about running – just pop a piece of gum in your mouth. A recent Japanese study found that when people chewed gum as they walked, their heart rate significantly increased. Men over 40 also torched more kilojoules and took more steps when they combined chewing gum with walking, so if you’re keen to turn your midday ramble into a heart-pumping workout ( minus the sweat), a stick of gum could be the answer!
