With its en­vi­able lo­ca­tion on the wa­ter­front at Syd­ney’s bustling Woolloomooloo restau­rant strip, Ovolo was al­ready on the radar of stylish trav­ellers, but with the launch of Alibi, its new plant­based restau­rant, it’s now put it­self on the ve­gan travel map.

It’s the first Aus­tralian ven­ture by lead­ing US-plant based chef Matthew Ken­ney, and the menu fea­tures sig­na­ture ve­gan dishes like kim­chi dumplings with sesame and gin­ger foam, and co­conut cream pie. The ve­gan-scene is boom­ing in Syd­ney, so spend a few days eat­ing your way around the city: Check out The Green Lion ve­gan pub in funky Rozelle, in­dulge with the ve­gan de­gus­ta­tion at Otto, lo­cated just un­der Ovolo, or wan­der up the hill to Potts Point to try the plant-based menu at Yel­low.
