The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - Escape - - WHAT’S YOUR BUDGET BOSTON -

If there’s one thing Boston does well, it’s the changing of the seasons and a visit during autumn will deliver scenic surrounds in shades of orange, red and gold. “Witnessing this while exploring the rich history of Boston truly gives you one of those great American city experiences,” Hotels.com marketing manager David Spasovic says. “Some of my favourite spots to check out the changing autumn leaves include The Esplanade along the Charles River, the Back Bay area, Boston Common and Arnold Arboretum, which has a free Fall Foliage Festival on the last Sunday of October.” To be among the changing leaves, look for accommodation in Back Bay, or Downtown Boston for easy access to nightlife and restaurants.

“It’s a great walking city, which means you can really stay anywhere and still get around very easily,” Spasovic says. “Of course, Harvard University is something to experience, and Australia’s coffee culture seems to be making its mark on the city which is always good news for Aussie travellers needing their latte fix.”
