It’s big, bold, and though its name was changed years ago, will forever be known in many hearts as Bombay. Although it can be overwhelming at first bite, Mumbai attracts both dreamers and millionaire businessmen. More modernly known as India’s Silicon Valley, it’s India’s richest city – home to 46,000 millionaires and 28 billionaires along with a total wealth of $820 billion.
But it’s not just those seeking tech fame and fortune being lured to Mumbai, with Mother India beckoning Australians to her shores. Searches for India, specifically Mumbai, are up by nearly 25 per cent year-on-year in 2017, and Expedia tips this might be the year many Aussies explore the country, broadening their horizons beyond butter chicken.
