THE in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the dis­ap­pear­ance of two boys con­tin­ues to con­sume bush de­tec­tive Jay Swan (Aaron Ped­er­sen) who un­cov­ers a drugs link to the case, and a sus­pect who’s just been sacked by the brother of lo­cal cop Emma (Judy Davis) and ap­par­ently left town.

This is a first-class drama, with a re­mark­able cast, in­clud­ing Deb­o­rah Mail­man (pic­tured on right with Davis), Colin Friels and Wayne Blair all show­ing the way for an even more im­pres­sive young act­ing en­sem­ble show­cas­ing a new gen­er­a­tion of in­dige­nous tal­ent; es­pe­cially Madeleine Mad­den (fresh from her star­ring role in Aaron McGrath, Meyne Wy­att and Ta­sia Zalar.

Di­rected by Rachel Perkins, with Ivan Sven as ex­ec­u­tive pro­ducer, this is not to be missed with mes­meris­ing scenery (shot on lo­ca­tion in re­mote West­ern Aus­tralia) and ut­terly com­pelling per­for­mances.
