VETERANS HONOURED

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - TV Guide - - Don't miss this week -

COME to spot Prince Harry and his new bride, Meghan. Stay for the inspirational performances and physicality of the competitors in these, the fourth Invictus Games.

Chris Bath will host the opening ceremony coverage from the Sydney Opera House, joined in commentary by Paralympic superhero, Dylan Alcott, Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann and military expert, Curtis McGrath. ABC’s coverage of the Games will be preceded by a special

(8pm, Mon); a one-hour documentary about Australia’s wheelchair rugby team (8.30pm, Tues); and ob-doco, (8.30pm, Thurs), which follows a joint team of British and Aussie veterans on a trek across Western Australia’s challenging Kimberley region.

The Invictus initiative is one which celebrates the human spirit, but also provides a rare opportunity for us mere mortals to hero worship the brave servicemen and women, who sacrifice so much for such little recognition. Let the spotlight shine bright and long.
