BE­FORE Ronni Kahn saw the dis­posal of tonnes of per­fectly ed­i­ble food and de­cided she’d find the so­lu­tion to this shock­ing prob­lem.

In 2004, the Syd­neysider founded food res­cue char­ity, OzHar­vest, which gath­ered the extras from restaurants and cor­po­ra­tions and saved them from the $20 bil­lion-plus scrapheap.

This hour-long doco fol­lows her re­mark­able story over two years – trav­el­ling across four con­ti­nents in her cru­sade; with the hope it will con­tinue the con­ver­sa­tion about waste.

Lead­ing the way hasn’t been easy, as Kahn told mag­a­zine: “be­ing a change­maker in­volves ruf­fling many feath­ers,” but she added proudly, “this is go­ing to be my life’s work.”
