WHEN a chef says their food is quick and easy, I’m al­ways sus­pi­cious. Are they talk­ing for them­selves or for lowly un­trained cooks like me? In this series, Oliver prom­ises he’s strip­ping back cook­ing to its bare es­sen­tials by us­ing just five in­gre­di­ents: “Us­ing killer in­gre­di­ent com­bos and time-sav­ing tricks, even the busiest of you will be able to master dishes that will bring the house down.” It’s a big call but Oliver is an in­fec­tious pre­sen­ter and it’s hard not to be swept up in his en­thu­si­asm. So smash it out… whack it on a tray… and happy days!
