Crisis not national

The Sunday Times - - YOUR SAY WA -

Will the powers that be ever stop disinformation about nationwide gas and power shortages, when only the Eastern States are affected?

We see wide-eyed TV reporters talk of looming gas shortages “across the country” and restricting LNG exports, but never mentioning our 2006 Carpenter government ensured WA’s security by setting aside 15 per cent of our gas reserves for WA use. Selfishly, the greedy GST grabbers keep their gas in the ground, while wanting to steal our 15 per cent. And Sandgropers are now bombarded with an Australian Government TV commercial crowing about expensive Snowy Mountain hydroelectric upgrades. Again, it’s of no relevance or benefit to WA. For more details we are referred to the Powering Forward website, which also uses and misrepresents the term “across Australia”.

Instead of incessant east coast propaganda, it’s time WA Federal politicians and media ensured we get information relevant to WA. SID BREEDEN City Beach
