Junior ‘high’ at the Park

The Sunday Times - - SPORT - WAYNE CURRALL

IT wasn’t the way champion reinsman Gary Hall Jr planned to finish the third race at Gloucester Park on Friday night with Lets Chase The Dream.

The $2.40 punters’ elect was making his charge on the final turn when he was checked by Im Master Charlie and crashed to the track.

Junior was thrown high into the air and landed in the cart of Chris Lewis, who was driving Lagoon Stride.

The impact also dislodged Lewis and both of WA’s leading drivers hit the dirt.

Thankfully Hall Jr and Lewis brushed themselves off and were able to fulfill the rest of their engagements.

And Lets Chase The Dream and Lagoon Stride were also bruised but not injured.

Junior had a chuckle when asked how he fared after the accident.

“I corked my arse,” he said.
